What happens when you fuse pleasure with plant medicine? Introducing Curious Intimate Massage.

Curious is the only lubricant on the market to include an array of potent medicinal plants that rejuvenate, nourish, and support intimate tissues while improving sexual pleasure. Curious is also formulated to promote a balanced pH, which plays a vital role in overall vaginal health.

When your vaginal pH goes awry, odor-causing microorganisms and infections can flourish. Studies show that vaginal issues are more likely to occur when vaginal pH is unbalanced. Unfortunately, most mainstream lubricants, personal moisturizers, and sexual massage products are jam-packed with cheap and toxic lubricants that not only fail to meet the needs of women, but most are also actively harmful.

Curious is designed to support the healthful function of a woman’s intimate physiology while acknowledging the fragile relationship between cellular health and a balanced microbiome. This is accomplished using exclusively natural oils and botanical extracts, and there simply is no silkier, lighter, more natural skincare available. Curious Intimate Massage dispenses with the troubling ingredients that cause harm or interfere with intimate ecology and physiology, while providing an entourage of plant-sourced oils and botanicals that work synergistically to provide cellular structural support and therapeutic phytonutrients.

Taking HoneyColony co-founders’ love of Greece to heart, the delectable and healing pomegranate is positioned as the foundation ingredient in Curious. The mythological fruit is associated with the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, a symbol of love, sensuality, beauty, and immortality.

Pomegranate oil is arguably the best way to support your body’s ability to maintain pH, by promoting vaginal cell turnover. It’s kind of an awesomely spectacular ingredient for punani health. Finally, a sophisticated, exquisite formula that prioritizes both wellness and pleasure.

Curious is silken to the touch so when you massage alone or with the company, the slip and glide allow you unbridled pleasure. The impulse is to think it won’t last- but it does. Unlike toxic mainstream lubricants, which can cause pH imbalance and infections, Curious contains naturally occurring ingredients that balance pH and actually help fight infection. This is particularly important for women who are susceptible to UTI’s or BV post-romp. Semen alone can also cause an imbalance in vaginal pH, making Curious an excellent preventative addition. Curious boasts uncompromised therapeutic value and quality.

Ingredients:

All ingredients are GMO free; and free of irradiation, ethoxylation, sulphonation, and chemical extraction. We use certified organic ingredients when they exist; when not, we use certified therapeutic-grade materials. Vegan. Gluten-free. Not tested on animals. 100 percent plant sourced. All ingredients are natural and naturally processed.

Coconut (Cocos nucifera) fruit oil extract, therapeutic grade

Coconut fruit extract is an exceptionally silky, non-greasy oil extract that improves barrier function without harmfully coating the vaginal epidermis. This is a multifunctional ingredient that uses steam extraction to eliminate the long-chain triglycerides that cause the oil to crystallize and separate. It decreases water loss via the mucosal membranes, transforming dry, irritated and inflamed surfaces into soft, hydrated tissues. Studies indicate Coconut fruit extract is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant.

Coconut fruit oil is similar to coconut MCT oil, with a high concentration of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) and non-estrogenic phytosterols. MCTs are more efficiently metabolized than LCTs (long-chain triglycerides) because they cross the double mitochondrial membrane rapidly and do not require carnitine (a compound needed for metabolism). This rapid metabolic conversion of MCT into cellular energy increases absorption of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids and serves to protect, maintain, and restore sensitive tissues. MCT meaningfully penetrates the epidermis in neonates (used to increase weight gain via massage in underweight and premature infants) and through mucous membranes.

Pomegranate (Punica granatum) seed oil, Organic

Pomegranate oil contains 70 percent punicic acid, a valuable Omega 5 fatty acid that reduces inflammation and aids in cellular repair.

It’s high in antioxidants — higher than red wine, and similar to that of green tea — and notably promotes collagen and elastin production. Our pomegranate oil is quite remarkable in that it is a potent keratinocyte proliferation stimulator specific to the epidermis. Meaning pomegranate oil notably improves elasticity and allows for old skin to slough off more quickly, increasing vaginal health.

The fact that pomegranate can help you maintain pH integrity is a very important feature in that vaginal pH in women is the result of a diverse ecosystem in the vaginal vault involving cellular turnover, lactic acid production as a metabolic by-product. This lactic acid helps maintains the desired pH that keeps our tissues healthy and our ecosystem balanced.

Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) extract, Organic

Green Tea is exceptionally high in antioxidant polyphenols that scavenge free radicals that otherwise increase the risk of many cancers and accelerates the aging processes. Green Tea extract plays a valued role in this formula, given that studies indicate its use in the treatment of cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer when applied topically.  There is substantial research support for the use of topical green tea.

Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) oil, Organic

Jojoba oil is extracted from the seed of a desert shrub that grows in the American southwest and Mexico. Noted for its light feel and its similarity to human sebum, it has a history of traditional use in skincare as well as therapeutic applications. Research indicates that it significantly accelerates the wound closure of both keratinocytes and fibroblasts and stimulates collagen synthesis. Jojoba oil has also been found to combat inflammation while reducing scar formation.

Elderberry (Sambucus Canadensis) extract, Organic

In support of a balanced ecosystem, elderberry extract is a specific solution against overabundant yeast (Candida albicans) and E. coli, which are pathogenic bacteria that live in the colon, responsible for many conditions of vaginosis and the vast majority of urinary tract infections. We don’t use a broad-spectrum anti-microbial — an abominably bad idea! — but offer an assist to the vaginal microbiome balancing process by addressing the common issues of excess of these two problem-causing microbes.

Phytonutrient rich with potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, the bioflavonoids in elderberry also help tighten loose skin and reduce wrinkles. Of crucial function in this formula, the organic fatty acid helps fight against the fungal and bacterial organisms that are problematic for women in terms of both general vaginal health and sexual health. Elderberry also helps against biofilms associated with Candida albicans (yeast).  Additional research also indicates its positive action against Herpes Simplex Virus.

Elderberry conveniently serves to also protect the shelf life of Curious.

Olive (Olea europaea) squalane, therapeutic grade

Squalene is one of the most common lipids produced by human skin cells and is a component of human sebum. In terms of sensorial attributes, squalane is as soft and silky, and restorative as one may find. Historically, it was extracted from shark liver and highly prized first in Japan and Asia, and then in luxury skin care for the elite in Europe. It is lauded for both its sensual feel and its attributes as a wound healer and regenerative medicine. Fortunately, it is now recognized that squalane may be extracted from plant sources as well, and ours is derived from olive oil. In addition to its moisturizing properties and remarkable silkiness, squalane is also used in treating skin disorders such as seborrheia, dermatitis, acne, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis.

Damiana (Turnera diffusa) extract, Organic

Damiana is an herb often used to combat depression accompanied by loss of libido. It is also a noted aphrodisiac and anti-anxiolytic. Useful for pelvic stagnation of blood, used for ovarian cysts, fibroids, and confused menses. Damiana was traditionally used in Mayan medicine to increase clitoral sensitivity and as a treatment for anorgasmia in women. The herb also stimulates sexual behavior in sluggish/ impotent males.

Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) extract, Organic

Gotu Kola is an herb specifically used against inflammatory or tissue disorders that are hot, red, and inflamed. Gotu Kola is effective for mucous membrane support in general, and particularly for those who struggle with dry, atrophied tissue due to autoimmune conditions, which is common. Gotu Kola is also used as a topical treatment for vulvodynia, a painful condition quietly suffered by many women. It also has antiviral properties against herpes virus and may be used topically for this purpose. It has a traditional use in formulas increasing sexual capacity and desire. A recent study also indicates that it is a topical free radical scavenger with anti-inflammatory properties. Gotu Kola also improves skin hydration and epidermal barrier function.

Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) extract phospholipids, Organic

Shiitake mushroom extract is an excellent source of nutrition to the skin. The zinc alone helps bolster our immune system. It’s packed with antioxidant properties and is also used against cancerous lesions and tumors, and research indicates it to be useful for some cancers.

Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) extract phospholipids, Organic

Chamomile is a daisy-like plant commonly used to make herb infusions. But did you know that topically it’s also used to treat anal-genital irritation, specifically hemorrhoids, vaginal membranes, and episiotomy (the surgical cut made at the opening of the vagina during childbirth). It reduces irritation and inflammation of mucous membranes associated with abrasions and wounds.

Our Shiitake and Chamomile extracts are carried in non-nano, certified organic phospholipids. Phospholipids form the membrane that compose the outer layer of all cells in the human body. Encasing the botanical extracts in this way allows them to enter the cells more effectively and simultaneously nourish and protect the delicate vaginal tissues.

Pomegranate (Punica granatum) sterols

This ingredient contributes additional sterols to those already present in the pomegranate oil, to optimize the barrier and hydration effect. It is deeply moisturizing. According to the British Pharmacopoeia, pomegranate sterol has a remarkable hydration potential, far exceeding other known sterols.

Directions:

Spray into the palm of your hand and apply with fingertips, as desired. One or two pumps is just right for intimate moisture. For sex, the same amount is enough to begin- and research shows that many women just need to feel some wetness to remind their bodies to begin self-lubricating. Sometimes a long session requires some added juice to keep going. Three or four pumps of the sprayer are good for playtime.

Each spray is approximately .2 ml, so each  2 oz bottle contains 300 sprays, while the 8 oz contains 1,200 sprays.

Curious is edible, but without fragrance or flavors to interfere or announce itself. The best product is one that allows you to forget it’s there. It feels natural. For real.

The shelf life is at least 2 years. Our ingredients are high in antioxidants, this have a naturally long shelf life; the elderberry extracts also contributes significantly to shelf life extension.

Is Curious compatible with latex condoms?

Due to it's high quality of ingredients, Curious is not meant to be used with latex condoms. However, Curious is compatible with lambskin, polyurethane, and nitrile condoms.

I thought that oils were not good for the vaginal area? Is that not true?

Water-containing and synthetic based oil formulas are not iso-osmotic, but are usually hyper-osmotic. Hyper osmotic means they cause irritation, inflammation, and damage to the epethial cells. This impacts the ability of your body to maintain healthy cellular turnover that keeps your pH and intimate biome healthy.

We now have learned that the right oils are very supportive to the tissues. The idea that oils were bad was based upon the assumption that they would interfere with the natural vaginal cleansing process. Research has shown this is not the case, and evidence supports the use of specific fine oils and botanical extracts.

How do I apply Curious?. Do I insert it inside of me or on the outer area of my vagina?

When using Curious for intimate massage playtime you can apply it directly to your inner labia using 1-2 sprays. Curious can be used during play or discreetly prior to sex since it is subtle, with no fragrance to interfere with the experience and feels like a woman's own natural lubricant — light and silky. Curious can also be applied directly to a penis or a toy.

When using Curious as a skincare — for moisture or to calm irritated tissues — use 1-2 sprays on the desired area. If you're experiencing dryness or vaginal atrophy — this is a condition of hormone dysregulation and a fact of life as our bodies change — you can use your fingers to gently apply it up inside your vaginal vault. It feels light, gives fast relief from discomfort, and isn't greasy or gunky.

Curious helps your body achieve a healthy pH, which is critical to maintaining supple and comfortable tissues, and a balanced intimate biome. Without a pH balance, we tend to struggle with yeast infections and BV (bacterial vaginosis). Some of the ingredients also help to minimize excess yeast and many women find that it resolves yeast infections quite quickly, even before the body has had the opportunity to recover a healthy pH, which is an important agenda with this formula.

Please feel comfortable asking for more specific information if you like- we're very comfortable and familiar with conversation about our female bodies and our sexuality.

Can Curious be used on internal vaginal tissues?

Curious is highly supportive of the vulva and vaginal tissues. It’s authentic skincare, as opposed to lubes designed merely to facilitate sex or hygiene products that artificially mask any issues with pH and subsequent problems. Curious supports the health of your intimate tissues and your balanced vaginal biome.
