Spread the love

It’s time to channel your lust and take a good hard look at your personal lotion for lubrication, many of which are drenched with toxic ingredients such as parabens, sodium benzoate, petrochemicals, and even propylene glycol (a common ingredient in brake fluid).

Pathetically little study has been conducted on the effects of these chemicals from either short- or long-term use. But we do know a few things for sure:  water based lubricant, best water based lube, best water based lubricant, water based lube, water based lubes

  1. Parabens are endocrine disruptors, and endocrine disruptors have for some time been linked to birth defects, reduced sperm count, tumors, immune deficiencies, and a seemingly endless list of nasty business like the “feminization of boys.”
  2. Even though global consensus hasn’t been reached on parabens’ destructive effects, the entire European Union is seeking to ban them in any product meant for children under six. Officials at the World Health Organization, meanwhile, have stated outright that endocrine disruptors “can lead to obesity, infertility or reduced fertility, learning and memory difficulties, adult-onset diabetes or cardiovascular disease, as well as a variety of other diseases.”
  3. Several studies have also shown that some of these chemicals are actually abrasive and can leave users more prone to risk of infection or STDs.
  4. Nobody wants to put brake fluid on their sacred body parts.

Add all this to the fact that roughly two-thirds of today’s personal lubricants come from China and one ends up with a decidedly un-sexy picture.

Luckily, this sad news doesn’t leave anyone high and dry if they know where to look, and a perfect toxic-free addition to your erotic stash could be Curious.

Curious is designed to support the healthful function of a woman’s intimate physiology while acknowledging the fragile relationship between cellular health and a balanced microbiome. This is accomplished using exclusively natural oils and botanical extracts, and there simply is no silkier, lighter, more natural skincare available.

“We dispense with the troubling ingredients that cause harm or interfere with intimate ecology and physiology, while providing an entourage of plant-sourced oils and botanicals that work synergistically to provide cellular structural support and therapeutic phytonutrients,” explains Curious formulator Elizabeth Moriarty, Clinical Herbalist and owner of HERBOLOGIE. She is also the brilliance behind Superior Cannabinoid Hemp Oil.

Introducing Curious. The Only Sexual Lubricant Designed With Plant Medicine.

As part of his practice, Weiss regularly treated women recovering from breast cancer surgery, most of whom had gone through rigorous bouts of chemotherapy and other toxic treatments that frequently cause vaginal dryness. Knowing full well that patients such as these are customarily prescribed estrogen creams to treat such dryness, Weiss wanted to give these women a “natural approach to [their] sexual needs.”

“I created this for women…well, one woman in particular: my wife,” says Dr. Weiss. “I didn’t want her to be exposed to harsh chemicals.”

Prior to medical school, Weiss completed a degree in chemistry and first worked as a chemist. Throughout his career he kept a passionate interest in organic chemistry alive by making organic bath salts, oils, and scrubs for his wife, family, and friends.

“Love Lotion was a natural extension of this passion,” says Weiss, “…to make an all-natural, chemical free lubricant that was fun to use and good for your body. Through a lot of research, experimentation, and trial and error, Love Lotion was born.”

Traditional lubricants come in a variety of bases, including water, silicone, petroleum, and natural oils. Each has its own set of drawbacks. Water-based lubricants, for example, may be sticky and dry out too quickly, so they need to be reapplied often. They also may contain many harmful ingredients, which Weiss describes as “hyperosmolar,” meaning they “actually draw water out of the vaginal lining, potentially leaving micro-cracks.”

These cracks can leave users more prone to disease and infection, Weiss explains. water based lubricant

“Silicone-based lubricants, meanwhile, are difficult to remove from the skin,” continues Weiss. “The silicone drips out of the vagina post-sex, making it difficult to remove from towels, bed sheets, and linens.”

Apart from wreaking havoc on your cleaning bill, Weiss also explains how sex toys with silicone coatings actually begin to disintegrate when used in conjunction with silicone lubes, eventually rendering the toys unusable. Petroleum-based products are even more destructive, not only eating away at rubber and latex like termites to a tree house, but also trapping myriad bacteria that can lead to infection.

Love Lotion was formulated to not only ensure it’s all natural and free from harsh chemicals, but also make it condom and toy compatible.

The ingredients are simple and organic: shea butter, coconut oil, and grapeseed oil make up the brunt of the lotion, rounded out by an essential oil blend of sweet orange, jasmine, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, patchouli, and lavender. And did we mention it smells delicious and doubles as a lotion?

All derived and processed by an FDA-certified organic facility, of course.

Weiss says the lotion is absorbed after about 45 minutes, so there is no messy clean up or dripping from the vagina (et al.) after sex. The product also has anti-bacterial and anti-yeast properties, making it as great for a full body rubdown as it is for targeted application.

“I love Love Lotion,” says Christine Weiss, Eric’s wife and the company’s co-founder. “It makes me want to be touched and allows foreplay to be gentle and sensuous. And I love how it’s actually good for you. I won’t have sex without it!”

Keep in mind that just because something is organic doesn’t automatically mean it is perfect for everyone. Even though no users have reported any adverse sensitivity, the Doctor recommends applying a small amount to the inner thigh before jumping into the sack.

“As with any natural product, there is of course a risk of allergy,” Weiss adds, stressing it would be very rare for someone to have any reaction.

Finally, no good saucy accessory is complete without good packaging, which Christine describes as “beautiful, discreet, and feminine.”

Or, as one user put it, “My neighbor complimented the beautiful boxed ‘candle’ on my bedside table. Our little secret Love Lotion.”
