HoneyColony wanted to create a functional gift that readers such as yourself may likely appreciate and get behind in exchange for your support. Which is why we created this teeshirt on organic cotton for only $35.
As you may know, we do not take corporate advertising and we’d like to keep it that way. And so until we secure more funds, we are member-supported. You can join us at our Indiegogo campaign.
At HoneyColony we are dedicated to spreading information about our food supply and that includes the dangers of genetically modified organisms. In fact our social media maven Zuri Allen was responsible for spearheading the prop.37 anti-gmo campaign online.
We came across this amazing app called Buycott and decided to create a teeshirt to not only help our mission but to inform people about this tool that “lets you organize your consumer spending to help causes that you care for, and to oppose those that you don’t.”
A buycott is the opposite of a boycott. Buycott helps you to organize your everyday consumer spending so that it reflects your principles.
Once you download the app, you simply scan a barcode. It will look up the product, determine what brand it belongs to, and figure out what company owns that brand (and who owns that company, ad infinitum). It will then cross-check the product owners against the companies and brands included in the campaigns you’ve joined, in order to tell you if the scanned product conflicts with one of your campaign commitments.
Want to spread the word? Make a statement with this teeshirt and help our cause.
