Monsanto, Dow, and Syngenta are breathing a sigh of relief. The agrochemical biotech giants have incomparable influence over the U.S. government, which just handed them another victory. The U.S. House of Representatives approved to extend a law that permits farmers to keep growing genetically modified crops despite any of the following: concerns about the crops’ safety, pending studies to test health and environmental impacts, pending lawsuits, ongoing GMO-crop contamination onto non-GMO neighboring crops.
