Sprinkles ATM dispenses cupcakes instead of cash. And it’s finally made its way to the East Coast! With ATMs in locations like Beverly Hills, Dallas, and Chicago, the cupcake company launched its latest 24-hour ATM on the Upper East Side in New York City.
Maura Weber of Sprinkles Cupcakes explains, “The cupcake ATM holds roughly 800 cupcakes and follows the same baking schedule as the store.” So the ATM flavors may vary according to the day of the week.
Decked in pink and powered by a robotic arm, customers can purchase up to four individually packaged cupcakes, with each box sprinkling a sugary sweetness in the Big Apple one cupcake at a time.
However, the option to fulfill a sugar craving any time of day raises questions about the culture of instant gratification. It’s available but is it really good for us? Sugar is a poisonous addiction that is linked to diabetes, ADHD, obesity, cancer, candida, and so much more.
